Continuing Medical Education

Course Objective

To increase awareness of physicians and other health care providers related to new advances and research in science and technology and the potential application to practice.

Who Should Attend

Physicians, faculty, students, postdoctoral fellows, research associates, and others in the following areas: pharmacology, biotechnology, information technology, leadership and economic development, and basic science.

Continuing Education Credit

The University of Pittsburgh is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 8.5 Category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. Other health care professionals are awarded up to .85 continuing education units (CEUs), which are equal to 8.5 contact hours.
